Sope Creek Photo Index Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Whose to blame for these pictures?
Uh, that would be me, Jerry Shockley. Some folks get really upset when
they find out they can't fire me, because I do this for free. ;-)
You can reach me at jerry@123shockleynet.com, but without the 123. I just
throw that in to keep my email address from being collected by robots.
2. My slideshow stopped unexpectedly, how can I get it going again?
There are several things that can restart a stalled slideshow from the point
it unexpectedly stopped. Attempt the steps below, in order, to restart your
slideshow.
- Press the pause button and then the play buttom.
- Press the right arrow button to advance one slide and then the play button.
- Press the Refresh Page button in your browser.
If none of the above works for you or your slideshows are constantly stopping
unexpectedly, then you should attempt to update your browser software and your
Adobe Flash browser plugin to insure you are running the latest versions. The slideshow
mechanism works very well for me in Safari and Firefox with all the updated software,
so if you keep having problems try updating your software as described above. Please
let me know if none of these steps work for you.
3. Can I download the pictures?
Yes, you can. To download pictures just click the download button
next to the link containing the picture(s) you want to download.
This will take you to a list of the files in the corresponding set
of photos identified by the text next to the download button. After
pressing the download button and finding the file you want to download
simply right click on the file and select the "save as" (or similar text
depending on your browser) option to download the image file.
4. Can I print the image files I download?
Yes, you can. I have downloaded them and tested printing 4x6 photos and
they print beautifully. I suspect 5x7 will be fine as well. If you
find a picture you want to print larger than that, just click the "email Jerry"
link and send me the name of the file you want and I can email you the
high resolution file that you can print a poster with.
5. Where do I find the filenames?
When viewing an image, the filename is the text directly below and centered
under the large image, versus the indexed images to your left, you are
viewing. The date is typically directly under that.
Some folks mistakenly confusing the slideshow sequence number (e.g. 12/109)
located to the right of the controls for the filename.
6. Why do I see duplicate images for 5th grade and Mrs. Moore's class?
We are doing a 5th grade project using images of all Sope Creek 5th grade. As
a convenience, I have pulled out a copy of those images containing students
from Mrs. Moore's class and listed them separately. This way Mrs. Moore's class
doesn't have to look through all the 5th grade pictures.
These duplicate photo sets are indicated with an asterik (*) so you know
they are a subset of a corresponding 5th grade image set. It would be
great if I had unlimited time and knew every child in the 5th grade and
which class they were all in...okay
back to reality. It is still good to just have the pictures to look at. ;-)
